Meet Charlie Crist, personal injury lawyer
Recommend
There was a time when Charlie Crist was governor of Florida, considered a rising star in the Republican Party and talked about as a potential running mate to John McCain in 2008.
But things change in politics. Crist became an independent and lost a race in November for the U.S. Senate to a new GOP (and Tea Party) rising star, Marco Rubio.
So what's a guy to do? Crist is now hanging out his shingle and trying to drum up some business for his law firm -- specialists in personal injury and medical malpractice cases -- in a new TV ad.
"I'm Charlie Crist. If you need help sorting out your legal issues as a result of an accident or an insurance dispute, visit me at Charlie@forthepeople.com," Crist says in the ad for Morgan & Morgan.
The firm lists its successful cases on its website. For example: one of the firm's lawyers won an $18.8 million verdict on behalf of a motorcyclist who was left a paraplegic after an accident in which a car pulled out in front of him.
Crist joined the firm in January, when Republican Rick Scott became governor.
